Split bills easily with Saily’s shared expenses feature
To split travel expenses with friends or family, create a group in the Saily app. Pick an icon, give it a memorable name, and invite up to 20 people to join. You can even add people who aren’t Saily users yet — they’ll get an email explaining how to download the Saily eSIM app. After joining, they can invite others too.
Anyone in the group can manually add an expense, in any currency, and Saily automatically converts it to the group’s default currency. Split it equally, unequally, or by percentage — however the bill works out. While all transactions happen outside the Saily app, you can tap “Record a payment” once you’ve paid your friends back. You can edit expense details at any time, and balances update right away so nobody has to wonder where they stand.
Over the course of a trip, a group will likely log multiple expenses. The “Smart settle” feature calculates everyone’s final balance so nobody has to pay each other back individually. It condenses all shared expenses into one payment per person, clearing everyone’s balance in the fewest transactions possible. Every settlement is recorded and stays visible, so the history is there if anyone wants to check.
Keep your friends connected with Saily’s shared plans feature
Expenses aren’t the only thing worth pooling on a trip. Now, one person can buy a Saily data plan for more than 200 travel destinations and share it with up to four other people. Instead of everyone buying an individual plan, one purchase allows the whole group to get online.
You can set up a data share plan in just a few steps. Pick a plan you haven’t activated yet and add up to four email addresses — Saily will send everyone a link. When your friends tap the link, they’re taken to the Saily app to log in or create an account. Once they confirm they want to use the plan, they’re set to start using the shared data.
Everyone draws from the same pool, and the plan runs until the data is used up or it expires, whichever comes first. A quick heads up before you start — you can share 3 GB, 5 GB, 10 GB, and 20 GB plans, but 1 GB, Ultra, and unlimited plans can’t be shared at this time. Invite your group before you activate your shared plan because once it’s running, you can’t add anyone else.
Making group travel work with Saily’s new features
Both features let you enjoy the trip to make mobile data and group costs a secondary concern. You’re free to find the best late-night gelato spot or panoramic view of a historic center while Saily keeps everyone connected and tracks who paid for what.
Get a shared eSIM plan to keep your friends and family online, split travel costs as you go, and manage both right in the Saily app. Keeping your shared connectivity and expenses in one place leaves your group with more time to unwind and enjoy the trip.
